Happy March everyone!
Wow, February might be the shortest month, but simultaneously felt like the longest month too. I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to “March” into new good habits and experiences! The weather is starting to warm back up here in Texas, and I’m ready for sunny days where I can sit by the pool and write!
My third book in the Word Play series, You Cake My Breath Away, came out last month, and thus far the response has been great! Putting a new book out there is always a fun yet terrifying experience. You pour your heart into the story, and then you have to send it out into the world like a little baby off to school. You don’t know who they will encounter, whether people will be nice or mean or if they’ll find friends at the lunch table. Being an author is very much like that too.
However, like kids, our books will eventually find their people. It might take some time before people realize how “cool” they are, but it’ll happen!
Books by me
If you’ve only read one of my books, guess what? There are others! Currently, I have three books available in eBook, paperback, & on KU. Below is the link if you want to read the others!
Drafts
🎉I just finished the first draft of book 4!
Rosay and Graham’s story was so much fun to write. For those who don’t know her, Rosay is the best friend of the main character, Stella, from The Bottom Line. She’s a feisty VP at the investment company where Graham has just taken over as interim CEO, and somehow they end up pretending to be fake engaged…for reasons.👀

📚Beta reading📚
If you like beta reading and would like to be considered to be a beta reader for this my new story, sign up below!
If you’re asking yourself “What the heck is a beta reader?”, then check out the description from Wikipedia below:
A beta reader is a test reader of an unreleased work[1] of writing, typically literature, who gives feedback to the author from the point of view of an average reader.[2] This feedback can be used by the writer to fix remaining issues with plot, pacing, and consistency. The beta reader also serves as a sounding board to see if the work has the intended intellectual or emotional impact on the target market.
Snacks
St. Paddy’s Day is coming, and with it the notorious Leprechaun pinching little kids(It’s me. I’m the Leprechaun🤭) I’m kidding! Any who, I love snacks. Specifically love all types of trail/Chex mix. And when I saw this mix, I thought about how much my kids would love making and eating this. It’s fairly easy to make too!
Writing Hacks
My amazing co-host of the Thrills and Chills chat dropped this event into our suspense newsletter, but I felt like it could be a great resource/class for any writers! Ginny Myers Sain from Citrus Crime Writers is giving a class on stage direction that would be beneficial for writers to use in their own stories. The class is on Sunday, March 9th from 1-2pm CDT.
How Writers Can Use Stage Direction Techniques.

My best friend’s brother.
That’s all Manuel Zabana has ever been to me.
And yes, he is also the Co-CEO of Zabana Enterprises and a hot millionaire, but to me—Cara Thompson, special education teacher and sunshine girl—he has always been my best friend’s sweet, kind, funny, and incredibly hot little brother.
It wouldn’t be an issue, but the opportunity arises for me to move back home. I’ve been living a double life for ten years spending my summers in Baker Oaks and my school years elsewhere, but it’s time to go home. The catch? I need to take my girlie pink van with me, and I hate driving on the highway.
One night, over a game of truth and dare, my best friend dares Manuel to drive me back home, and like the gentleman he is, he keeps his promise. Even if it means being stuck on a road trip with me for three weeks. At the beginning, it’s all fun and games, but it quickly turns into heated glances, longing touches, and a few very steamy situations.
Maybe I’d believe him when he tells me I’m worthy of love, but he has to be sweet to me or his sister will come for his head. My heart has been broken before, and I don’t think three weeks is enough to mend it. Even if he looks like a god and acts like one, too… in an alley, in bed, and in a bathroom.
He says he’s loved me for years. He says I deserve it all. But will I ever believe him?
One Escape. One Protector. One Dangerous Secret.

A whirlwind summer at eighteen left me with the best and the worst memories. Now, living a life of controlled independence, my heart is kept safe, never to be given to another. A proposal for the perfect marriage with a man I’m not marrying for love, but security is what I need.
But one thing keeps this transactional life from moving forward— unfinished business in Coconut Grove. I must return to the small coastal town to tie up some loose ends, but what I’m not prepared for are the feelings that come rushing back as soon as I’m face-to-face with my first love.

Some might say we were too young to fall in love and for what occurred those warm summer months eight years ago. Our days spent on the shore came with excitement and despair. Only a young man, I met the woman who would change my life forever. With her stoic demeanor and dark confidence, I was addicted.
My love for her has been like a ghost-it’s never died. Suddenly, she’s come barging back into my life, demanding something I cannot give her. Can I rewrite the wrongs of the past and convince her to choose me, or am I destined for another heartbreak I won’t make it through?
Is it reckless for a master’s student to blur the lines with her hot, older professor—a legendary storm chaser?
Without a doubt.
But when a tornado strikes during Finley and Professor West’s first chase together, something far more dangerous than the storm pulls them in. Boundaries shatter, and so do their reservations.
Now, as they tear across Oklahoma with his famous storm chasing team, he’s adamant: they crossed a line that should never have been crossed. He’s her professor, and she’s his student—nothing more.
But with every storm they face, they’re drawn deeper into a whirlwind that threatens to consume them both.
Can they remain professional?
Or will the storms consume them?
